Signs a Married Man Really Loves You (and Signs He Is Just Comfortable)
How to tell if a married man is in love with you or just enjoying the attention. Honest signs on both sides, and the one question that tells you more than any of them.
Lists of "signs he loves you" usually tell you what you want to hear. This one tries to be useful: what real investment looks like, what comfort looks like, and how to tell them apart.
Signs of real investment
- He takes risks for your benefit, not only his. Time that costs him something — a weekday evening, a phone call when it is inconvenient.
- He remembers things that do not serve him. Your appraisal, your mother's surgery, the name of your difficult colleague.
- He is honest about his marriage, including the unflattering parts. Not "she doesn't understand me" but a real, complicated picture.
- He respects your life outside him. He does not sulk when you have plans. He does not need you on call.
- He never pressures you for photos or for secrecy that only protects him.
Signs he is comfortable, not committed
- Contact happens on his schedule only. Messages at 11 pm from the car; silence on weekends and every festival.
- The future is always "soon". After the kids' exams. After his father's health improves. After the new job.
- Your needs become "complicated". Anything you ask for is framed as pressure.
- He tells you his wife is the problem, and nothing ever changes at home.
Both can be true
A man can genuinely love you and still never leave. That is the part most articles skip. Love and willingness to change a life are different things, and in India — with children, joint families, property and social standing tied up in a marriage — the second is much rarer than the first.
The one question
Not "does he love me?" but "is my life better with this than without it?" Answer it for yourself, not for him. If you want to think it through: in love with a married man and how long affairs last.
Keep yourself safe
Whatever the answer, never share an identifiable photo, keep your own friends and routine, and know that if things end badly and anyone threatens to expose you, that is a crime (BNS Section 308): what to do if you are blackmailed.
