Married Dating Apps in India: What to Compare Before You Pay for Anything

We are one of the platforms in this category, so this is not a neutral review and we are not going to pretend it is. What we can do is give you the questions that actually separate a platform worth your data from one that is not, and let you apply them to us as well.

The landscape

Three kinds of thing get called a "married dating app" in India:

• Established international platforms. Ashley Madison and Gleeden, both of which run credit models and both of which have real Indian membership concentrated in the metros. See the comparison.
• India-first platforms. A small and changing set, including this one. The advantage is local pricing, local support and Indian data handling. The disadvantage is scale: any honest India-first platform is smaller than the international ones and should say so.
• Everything else. A long tail of apps that appear, harvest a few thousand signups and disappear, plus a category of Telegram and WhatsApp "groups" that are almost entirely scams. Avoid both.

The seven questions

1. What identity data do they hold, and for how long?

The 2015 Ashley Madison breach was damaging because the accounts were tied to real identities. The safest platform is the one holding least about you. Ask specifically: is my legal name stored? Is it shown to anyone? What happens to my ID document after verification?

2. Is deletion actually deletion?

Ask what remains afterwards. A vague answer means everything remains. Ashley Madison charged for "full delete" and the breach showed data that should have gone was still there — that is what the FTC settled over.

3. How is a profile verified?

"Verified" ranges from an email click to a government photo ID plus a live camera selfie read by a person. These are not the same standard and both get the same badge.

4. Are AI or operator-run accounts labelled?

The most important question in this category and the one platforms are most evasive about. Ask three things: are they labelled, are they excluded from published member counts, and can you ever be charged to contact one. Our answers are yes, yes, and no.

5. Where does photo masking happen?

In the browser, or on the server? A CSS blur can be removed in ten seconds by anybody who opens developer tools. A separately generated masked file cannot, because the original was never sent.

6. What appears on a card statement, and does anything renew?

A recurring subscription is a discovery risk every month, forever, and cancelling it requires remembering it exists. One-time payments do not have that property.

7. Is anyone actually on it in your city?

The most practical question and the easiest to check before paying. Every platform's homepage number is a global figure. Look at your own city and, if the platform does not show you that honestly, assume the answer is few.

How the money works

Nearly every platform in this category uses the same structure: free for women, credits for men. That exists because the gender ratio would otherwise make the product useless for everybody. Two things to watch: whether credits expire, and whether you are charged for messages that are never read. A platform that charges to open a conversation but not to continue one is aligned with you; one that charges per message is aligned against you.

What to avoid outright

• Any platform that asks for payment before you can see whether anybody is there.
• Telegram and WhatsApp "groups". Essentially all are advance-fee or sextortion operations.
• Anything promising guaranteed meetings. Nobody can guarantee another adult's consent, and a platform selling one is selling something else.
• Anyone who asks you to move off-platform in the first few messages. They are moving you somewhere with no reporting and no record.

Where we stand

We are newer and smaller than the international platforms, which is a genuine disadvantage and we would rather say so than have you find out after paying.
