Every intermediary in India must name a Grievance Officer and publish how to reach them. This is ours, along with the timelines we are held to under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
The Grievance Officer’s details are being finalised and will be published here before we accept paid registrations. Until then, write to us through the contact page and your complaint will be handled to the same timelines.
What you can raise
- Content or a member that breaches our Guidelines or Content Policy.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, impersonation, or anything involving a minor. Mark it urgent.
- A decision of ours you think is wrong — a removal, a suspension, a rejected verification.
- Anything about your personal data: access, correction, erasure, withdrawal of consent, or appointing a nominee.
- A payment or refund issue you could not resolve with support.
Timelines we are bound by
| What | By when |
|---|---|
| Acknowledgement of your complaint | 24 hours |
| Non-consensual intimate imagery or impersonation removed | 2 hours (Rule 3(2)(b), as amended in 2026) |
| Unlawful content removed after a valid order | 3 hours (Rule 3(1)(d), as amended in 2026) |
| Complaint resolved and answered | 7 days (Rule 3(2)(a), as amended in 2026) |
| The IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Amendment Rules, 2026 shortened these deadlines with effect from 20 February 2026. | |
| Data-protection request answered | 30 days (DPDP Act) |
What to include
- Your display name or the email on your account. You do not need to give your legal name.
- The profile, conversation or decision you are writing about.
- What happened and what you want done.
- Screenshots if you have them and it is safe for you to share them.
You will never be asked to explain why you were using the platform, or to justify anything about your personal life, before we help you.
How we handle it
- Acknowledged within 24 hours with a reference number.
- Reviewed by a person. Where you are appealing one of our decisions, it is reviewed by somebody who was not involved in making it.
- Urgent categories — a minor, non-consensual imagery, a credible threat — are escalated immediately and do not wait in a queue.
- You get a written answer with reasons. We reverse decisions when we were wrong.
If we do not resolve it
- Data protection: escalate to the Data Protection Board of India under the DPDP Act, 2023.
- Intermediary grievances: escalate to the Grievance Appellate Committee constituted under Rule 3A of the IT Rules, 2021, at gac.gov.in, within 30 days of our decision.
- Consumer complaints: the National Consumer Helpline on 1915, or consumerhelpline.gov.in.
- Cybercrime: 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in. You do not need our permission and you do not need to wait for us.
